This is a workaround for not having Microsoft Office tools available.
All Microsoft office documents are compatible with Google Office Suite. IT enforced a google chrome browser extension to be installed on everyone's web browser that will fix some concerns with this. If you right-click on any Microsoft Office document, and tell it to open with Google Chrome, or if you drag the file over your Chrome browser, it will then open the file using the google office suite. None of the files will be lost. The default application for those Microsoft office files can be changed to Google Chrome as well so that you do not have to right-click it or drag the file every time.
